Which Packaging Box Is Best?

November 23, 2022

The market for packaging boxes has become so saturated it can be hard to filter through all your options and end up at the perfect choice. Here at Jetbox, we want to make it easy to choose the best packaging boxes for your business, factoring in your budget, your products and the overall conditions your boxes will face. There are so many sizes, materials and box designs to choose from – and we are here to help make your choice seem less overwhelming, and break down all of our options for you.

There are a few questions you need to ask yourself before we start. These questions will ensure you understand what you are looking for, and can then make the best choices with the knowledge you have gathered. For example, a company that ships light weight products in small quantities directly to customers would best suit a Mailing Box, whereas a company that ships heavy or bulky items a Strong A3 Carton to protect their items during transit and storage. The box you need can be ascertained by answering the below questions!

What Are You Using Your Packaging Boxes For Hero Image

First Thing To Ask Yourself: What Are You Using Your Packaging Boxes For?

It may seem like a small decision, but the packaging box you choose makes all the difference. Ensuring your products arrive at their destination without damage is the main purpose of your packaging boxes, and every business requires different packaging to achieve this. At Jetbox, we manufacture high quality, Australian made corrugated cardboard boxes to suit any business.

As mentioned above, businesses that use their boxes solely to deliver small or light weight items to their customers need smaller, protective boxes. We recommend our Mailing Box, as they are lightweight, protective and the design locks the flap closed to add an extra layer of protection. Mailing Boxes are ideal for businesses who ship clothing, jewellery, cosmetics and other similar items.

If you are shipping clothing or other items in larger quantities, our 0112 Box or our A3 Box could be the perfect solution for you! These boxes are made using corrugated cardboard, and are designed to keep fragiles like collectables safe.

For even bigger deliveries, we offer 50L Biodegradable Cartons and 100L Shipping Boxes for even more space! See our full range of packaging boxes online here.

Jetbox Is Your Product Fragile or does it require Extra Care or Planning hero

Second Thing To Ask Yourself: Is Your Product Fragile Or Does It Require Extra Care Or Planning?

If you are shipping items that are fragile, extra heavy or require special treatment then you need to consider these things when choosing your packaging box. Consider the size of your box, as you may need a larger box than initially planned to fit the excess packaging materials necessary to keep your items safe.

It is also good to measure how much space things like bubble wrap, butchers paper and bio-fill take up if you are planning on using them consistently. At Jetbox, we offer custom made corrugated boxes for this exact reason. We know that standard size boxes don’t always allow for the perfect fit, and if your products require special care and packaging you should be using boxes made just for them.

We offer custom made corrugated cardboard boxes in a range of styles and thicknesses to suit any product. Fragile, heavy, difficulty shaped; no matter what, we can work with you to create the ideal custom box solution.

How To Pack Your TV Box

We understand that packing TV’s without the original packaging can be a stressful task.

Every Jetbox TV will be supplied with more than enough bubble wrap to wrap any size TV!

To put your TV box together, follow these instructions:

  1. Please start by taping the bottom of the box – pre-fold the flaps to make it easier to close.

  2. Use a blanket to cover your TV before applying bubble wrap.

  3. Lay it down (if the manufacturer recommendations specify that you can) and wrap it in bubble horizontally.

  4. Then wrap again vertically ensuring the corners, front and back are covered well. Tape up the bubble so that it doesn’t come undone.

  5. You can then slide the TV into the box, make sure it fits snugly and close the box with some strong tape.

Bulky Item Delivery Terms & Conditions

Some of our products are large, heavy and bulky and require extra care or special shipping. If your order requires a forklift we will advise before delivery, and if no forklift is available upon delivery a surcharge will apply.

Bulky deliveries that require hand delivery (but no forklift) to the first floor or above and require stair or lift access will also be subject to a delivery surcharge. If you advise at checkout that your delivery is above the ground floor, we will be in touch regarding the surcharge. This surcharge is from $50 per pallet.

Over & Under Runs

Manufacturing processes require machinery to work at quite high speeds. During production, some sheets may be damaged and need to be replaced. In some instances, we cannot replace the sheets at that time and you will be met with a slightly lower Quantity than ordered. This amount will be credited to you.

In most cases though, there will be overruns, as the machinery cannot come to a complete stop in an instant – we require a gradual slow down, which will give us more cartons produced, than what are ordered. These overruns are payable by the client. And taking them also helps save on recycling, which is more sustainable and better for the Environment in the long term.

If you require EXACT Quantities, we may have to make some boxes in a different grade than ordered, to make up your order in the Exact Qty required. These requests will also Incur higher unit costs. This cannot be avoided, as we must consider the recycling processes and costs involved, in helping to reduce our carbon footprint.
