When Should I Start Using Custom Corrugated Cardboard Boxes for Shipping?

While there are a number of ways to ship your products, none are safer than corrugated cardboard shipping boxes. Instead of risking the safety of your products in envelopes or mailers, use durable custom boxes to protect your products during transit and create a positive customer experience every time.

Custom boxes can be made to almost any size, whereas mailers only come in limited sizes. Anything that is tall, or fragile, will simply not survive transit in anything other than a cardboard shipping box. Cardboard boxes are easily stored, 100% recyclable and create that ‘wow’ factor upon opening. You can also opt for customised boxes like our RSC Printed Box to help create brand awareness while saving on stickers or other alternative branding options.

Our most popular custom cardboard shipping box styles are as below:

Style 1: The Custom Die Cut Gift Box

These are the boxes we recommend for almost every business. Ideal for eCommerce business, these self sealing boxes create a fantastic unboxing experience and can easily be branded with stickers or tape. Perfect for clothing, accessories, small fragile items and more.

Style 2: Custom Printed RSC Box

RSC stands for Regular Slotted Carton, and these boxes are the standard style of box. Think delivery boxes or moving boxes where there are four flaps, two small and then two large that meet exactly in the middle on top and bottom. Our Custom Printed RSC Boxes can be customised with your logo, an image or a quote – you can make these boxes truly your own! RSCs are fantastic for heavier, bulkier items but can also transport more fragile items when adequate void fill is used to keep everything safe.

Style 3: Custom Corner Cut Folder Box

This box is designed to make shipping art, books or other heavy, flat items easy as pie. Fold the box around your items, securing them and protecting them as they travel.

What is a Board Grade and What Are Flutes?

Corrugated cardboard, which all of our boxes at Jetbox are made out of, is cardboard made with 3 layers. Like a sandwich, there are two flat linerboard layers surrounding a flute layer made of wavy cardboard. This extra wavy layer helps to keep the sheets strong, preventing bending and adding extra padding and support.

Board Grades refer to the weight and type of the flutes. There can be corrugated cardboard with 5 layers instead of 3, for example, as well as tighter or looser cardboard waves. These factors play into the grade then given to the cardboard. The outer layer of cardboard also changes depending on the board grade.  Depending on your needs, there are a range of board grades available to best protect your products.

How To Pack Your TV Box

We understand that packing TV’s without the original packaging can be a stressful task.

Every Jetbox TV will be supplied with more than enough bubble wrap to wrap any size TV!

To put your TV box together, follow these instructions:

  1. Please start by taping the bottom of the box – pre-fold the flaps to make it easier to close.

  2. Use a blanket to cover your TV before applying bubble wrap.

  3. Lay it down (if the manufacturer recommendations specify that you can) and wrap it in bubble horizontally.

  4. Then wrap again vertically ensuring the corners, front and back are covered well. Tape up the bubble so that it doesn’t come undone.

  5. You can then slide the TV into the box, make sure it fits snugly and close the box with some strong tape.

Bulky Item Delivery Terms & Conditions

Some of our products are large, heavy and bulky and require extra care or special shipping. If your order requires a forklift we will advise before delivery, and if no forklift is available upon delivery a surcharge will apply.

Bulky deliveries that require hand delivery (but no forklift) to the first floor or above and require stair or lift access will also be subject to a delivery surcharge. If you advise at checkout that your delivery is above the ground floor, we will be in touch regarding the surcharge. This surcharge is from $50 per pallet.

Over & Under Runs

Manufacturing processes require machinery to work at quite high speeds. During production, some sheets may be damaged and need to be replaced. In some instances, we cannot replace the sheets at that time and you will be met with a slightly lower Quantity than ordered. This amount will be credited to you.

In most cases though, there will be overruns, as the machinery cannot come to a complete stop in an instant – we require a gradual slow down, which will give us more cartons produced, than what are ordered. These overruns are payable by the client. And taking them also helps save on recycling, which is more sustainable and better for the Environment in the long term.

If you require EXACT Quantities, we may have to make some boxes in a different grade than ordered, to make up your order in the Exact Qty required. These requests will also Incur higher unit costs. This cannot be avoided, as we must consider the recycling processes and costs involved, in helping to reduce our carbon footprint.
