One box, made to the piece.
Antique dealers, restorers and furniture makers come to us for one or two boxes at a time, because the piece cannot be replaced and the box on the shelf is never the right size. We make it to the sizes you give us, in board heavy enough for the trip.
For anything heavy, the full flap carton in double wall.
The flaps go the whole way across, so the top and the bottom are two layers of board where the weight sits and where the forklift or the courier grabs it. In double wall it carries a chair, a chest of drawers or a boxed lamp without the corners going.
For lighter pieces, or where the box goes inside a crate, the regular carton in double wall is the same idea with less board. If you are not sure, send a photo with the sizes and we will suggest the box.
The size, the number and the board, in that order.
Measure the piece at its widest points, add whatever you will wrap it in, blankets, foam or bubble, and then add 10 to 20 mm each way so it goes in without a fight. The sizes you type are internal sizes.
Nobody keeps a hundred of these on the shelf. Order the two you need this week, and when the next piece sells, order again. Your sizes stay on file, so a box you had last year is the same box this year.
Double wall is the board for anything heavy, anything with legs, and anything travelling interstate. Single wall in a heavy grade does lighter pieces and local deliveries.
A common starting point
A full flap carton at 900 x 500 x 500 mm internal, in double wall, takes a boxed side table, a small chest or a wrapped chair. Open it in the calculator with these numbers in, change the sizes to your piece, and the price is on the screen.
