How To Pack Your Product For Wholesale and Retail

July 19, 2021

If you are looking to sell your products in either a wholesale or retail space, the way you package them makes a difference. There might even be certain criteria you need to follow regarding the safety and storage of your items. No matter what your products are, the way you box them up is the difference between your items arriving safely and flying off the shelves, or arriving broken and leaving customers upset and unimpressed. Custom made boxes from Jetbox are the ideal solution to help you package, transport and sell your products. Well manufactured custom boxes provide sturdy and reliable protection for your stock, allowing you to focus on other areas of your business!

What Are the Requirements of Your Packaging?

While you already understand that your products need to be protected, it is key to understand what they need to be protected against. All products available on shelves make a unique journey to get there, and this journey can take some time. From manual handling to automated machines sorting your products, your boxes need to be strong enough to withstand being dropped, knocked about and even crushed under the weight of other items. Not only is it costly to replace broken items, it can also become a stressful process rather quickly. Jetbox offers sturdy, locally made boxes perfect for transporting products wherever they need to go! Made using corrugated cardboard, our boxes are long lasting and come in whatever size you need.

The best thing to do is contact your retailer, and any distribution companies who will be handling your products. They may have requirements for travel, and tips to help you along your way. If your product is large in size or quantity, keep in mind the size as it may be stacked on a pallet. Most items are moved by hand at some point, and will need to be stored in a storage room or on a shelf. While it may seem overwhelming, understanding the criteria and creating boxes to suit will save you and your distributors a lot of time and stress.

It is common for businesses to be constantly moving products in and out of storage. To do so successfully, you need a custom box supplier who will provide a number of different boxes on time, in the right quantities. The staff at Jetbox are professional and efficient, and you can rely on our boxes to stay strong throughout multiple moves before arriving at their destination. Our Melbourne made custom boxes are dependable, and can be made to any quantity you need or want! We also offer packaging products such as butchers paper and bubble wrap to help package your products to the highest safety standards. Your boxes also provide branding as they travel across the country, or across the world. Consider ways to customise your boxes such as stamps or stickers.

Sourcing Reliable Packaging for Your Product

Sourcing your packaging can seem overwhelming. There is nothing worse than being let down by a company who provides boxes that are the wrong size, or are low quality. Small businesses sourcing reliable packaging often look for companies with small MOQs, fast turn around times and friendly staff to help walk them through the process. At Jetbox, we offer all this and more! Our boxes are locally made to your specifications; perfect for Australian small businesses looking for packaging.

At Jetbox, all of our boxes are made using corrugated cardboard to ensure they are durable and robust. Your boxes will be made to suit the needs of your product, so you can rest easy knowing your items will get to their location safely, no matter the journey your boxes take.

How To Pack Your TV Box

We understand that packing TV’s without the original packaging can be a stressful task.

Every Jetbox TV will be supplied with more than enough bubble wrap to wrap any size TV!

To put your TV box together, follow these instructions:

  1. Please start by taping the bottom of the box – pre-fold the flaps to make it easier to close.

  2. Use a blanket to cover your TV before applying bubble wrap.

  3. Lay it down (if the manufacturer recommendations specify that you can) and wrap it in bubble horizontally.

  4. Then wrap again vertically ensuring the corners, front and back are covered well. Tape up the bubble so that it doesn’t come undone.

  5. You can then slide the TV into the box, make sure it fits snugly and close the box with some strong tape.

Bulky Item Delivery Terms & Conditions

Some of our products are large, heavy and bulky and require extra care or special shipping. If your order requires a forklift we will advise before delivery, and if no forklift is available upon delivery a surcharge will apply.

Bulky deliveries that require hand delivery (but no forklift) to the first floor or above and require stair or lift access will also be subject to a delivery surcharge. If you advise at checkout that your delivery is above the ground floor, we will be in touch regarding the surcharge. This surcharge is from $50 per pallet.

Over & Under Runs

Manufacturing processes require machinery to work at quite high speeds. During production, some sheets may be damaged and need to be replaced. In some instances, we cannot replace the sheets at that time and you will be met with a slightly lower Quantity than ordered. This amount will be credited to you.

In most cases though, there will be overruns, as the machinery cannot come to a complete stop in an instant – we require a gradual slow down, which will give us more cartons produced, than what are ordered. These overruns are payable by the client. And taking them also helps save on recycling, which is more sustainable and better for the Environment in the long term.

If you require EXACT Quantities, we may have to make some boxes in a different grade than ordered, to make up your order in the Exact Qty required. These requests will also Incur higher unit costs. This cannot be avoided, as we must consider the recycling processes and costs involved, in helping to reduce our carbon footprint.
