Moving home is oftentimes a very stressful process. Not only is it time consuming, you are tackling packing your items, transporting them and trying to stay on top of other hidden moving costs! Choosing high quality moving boxes helps to relieve some of this stress, as you can confidently pack and move your fragile and treasured items without worry. Every move requires a range of different boxes of different sizes and styles, and by purchasing from an experienced box manufacturer like Jetbox you can guarantee variety and quality at the same time!

Read on for our suggested boxes for moving, as well as tips and tricks on choosing the right boxes for your needs.

Choosing the Right Sizes

When planning on boxing up and moving your belongings, it is important to consider what you own. For example, if you own a lot of books or appliances they require different boxes to someone who owns lots of small, fragile things. Generally each person owns a myriad of fragile and heavy items, and it is important to make a mental note before purchasing your boxes. The last thing you need is boxes that are packed too heavily, which are difficult to move, or running out of space and sacrificing the safety of your items by forcing them into boxes too small.

Things such as crockery require extra padding, so take this into account as well!

When is the right time to use Small Moving Boxes?

While your mind may first go to small fragile items, small moving boxes are useful for a number of things. Items that need to be packed individually are good to put into small boxes, as are heavier things. We recommend things such as books be packed into smaller boxes, to prevent accidents such as the bottom of boxes popping open as well as boxes being dropped or movers being injured.

When is the right time to use Medium Moving Boxes?

The majority of your moving boxes will most likely be of medium, or average size. These boxes are perfect for moving kitchen wear such as plates, toys, games and more. We generally don’t recommend packing medium boxes with items that are heavy or bulky as these will be difficult to carry.

When is the right time to use Large Moving Boxes?

Large moving boxes are perfect for blankets, duvets, clothing, pillows and other large but lightweight items.

Best Moving Boxes for Stacking and Storing

Something you may not consider is how easily stackable all your boxes are. If you are using old moving boxes of various sizes it can be precarious, and even dangerous, to stack them in your home and in the moving truck. By purchasing many boxes of the same size, eg 10 50 Litre Cartons then you know they will stack together safely and easily.

At Jetbox, all of our boxes are manufactured in Melbourne to the highest standards. Our boxes stack and store without easily deteriorating, allowing you to unpack at your own pace.

How To Pack Your TV Box

We understand that packing TV’s without the original packaging can be a stressful task.

Every Jetbox TV will be supplied with more than enough bubble wrap to wrap any size TV!

To put your TV box together, follow these instructions:

  1. Please start by taping the bottom of the box – pre-fold the flaps to make it easier to close.

  2. Use a blanket to cover your TV before applying bubble wrap.

  3. Lay it down (if the manufacturer recommendations specify that you can) and wrap it in bubble horizontally.

  4. Then wrap again vertically ensuring the corners, front and back are covered well. Tape up the bubble so that it doesn’t come undone.

  5. You can then slide the TV into the box, make sure it fits snugly and close the box with some strong tape.

Bulky Item Delivery Terms & Conditions

Some of our products are large, heavy and bulky and require extra care or special shipping. If your order requires a forklift we will advise before delivery, and if no forklift is available upon delivery a surcharge will apply.

Bulky deliveries that require hand delivery (but no forklift) to the first floor or above and require stair or lift access will also be subject to a delivery surcharge. If you advise at checkout that your delivery is above the ground floor, we will be in touch regarding the surcharge. This surcharge is from $50 per pallet.

Over & Under Runs

Manufacturing processes require machinery to work at quite high speeds. During production, some sheets may be damaged and need to be replaced. In some instances, we cannot replace the sheets at that time and you will be met with a slightly lower Quantity than ordered. This amount will be credited to you.

In most cases though, there will be overruns, as the machinery cannot come to a complete stop in an instant – we require a gradual slow down, which will give us more cartons produced, than what are ordered. These overruns are payable by the client. And taking them also helps save on recycling, which is more sustainable and better for the Environment in the long term.

If you require EXACT Quantities, we may have to make some boxes in a different grade than ordered, to make up your order in the Exact Qty required. These requests will also Incur higher unit costs. This cannot be avoided, as we must consider the recycling processes and costs involved, in helping to reduce our carbon footprint.
