4 Cost-Effective Tips On Selecting a Cardboard Box Manufacturer

September 8, 2023

Choosing a cardboard box manufacturer for your business is a pretty big decision. Your choice will affect all aspects of your business: from the way your business is perceived, to the safety of your products during transit, and even your budget. It is important to find a manufacturer that you can afford, while also ensuring your cardboard boxes are manufactured to a high standard.

Taking that first step to choosing your manufacturer can be quite daunting – however, we want to help make choosing a cost-effective cardboard box manufacturer easy! Don’t spend unnecessary time looking for the perfect shipping box manufacturer, instead use our handy tips to find your perfect, budget-friendly cardboard box manufacturer in record time. Read on to learn exactly how to save money and purchase high-quality corrugated cardboard boxes

1. Understand How They Calculate Cost Per Box

One of the most important things to find out about a potential box manufacturer is how they calculate the cost per box. For example, do they have a small or large minimum order quantity (MOQ)? Secondly, does the cost per unit decrease the more boxes you buy? If yes, this is a good sign! This will allow you to buy a larger quantity and save money on each individual box. A low MOQ allows you to buy within your budget – a manufacturer that has a minimum of 200 or more may push away small and medium-sized businesses.

At Jetbox, we price our boxes based on the quantity you order – the more boxes you buy, the cheaper each box will be! This allows you to benefit from larger orders, and easily budget for the future. Purchase your own shipping boxes manufactured in Melbourne today by visiting our website

2. Purchase Custom Made Boxes to Save on Shipping and Packaging Product Costs

This tip may seem unusual – but custom boxes really are the key to saving your business money. Firstly, imagine designing a box to perfectly fit your products. Your custom made box is one of dreams – you can easily calculate how many packaging products, such as bubble wrap, you need for each order and snuggly fit your products inside their box. Hello less need for void fill! Custom made boxes can also be designed to fit into cheaper mailing brackets – depending on how your courier charges for shipping. We recommend looking into how your shipping is charged and maximising savings on their specific measurements and weight requirements!

Custom made boxes are made just for you – they can be made to be strong, durable, lightweight, and more. Your products won’t roll around inside boxes made just for them. You can trust that your products will arrive safely – and save on returns and refunds for broken items!

All these savings add up to something big. How To Pack Your TV Box

We understand that packing TV’s without the original packaging can be a stressful task.

Every Jetbox TV will be supplied with more than enough bubble wrap to wrap any size TV!

To put your TV box together, follow these instructions:

  1. Please start by taping the bottom of the box – pre-fold the flaps to make it easier to close.

  2. Use a blanket to cover your TV before applying bubble wrap.

  3. Lay it down (if the manufacturer recommendations specify that you can) and wrap it in bubble horizontally.

  4. Then wrap again vertically ensuring the corners, front and back are covered well. Tape up the bubble so that it doesn’t come undone.

  5. You can then slide the TV into the box, make sure it fits snugly and close the box with some strong tape.

Bulky Item Delivery Terms & Conditions

Some of our products are large, heavy and bulky and require extra care or special shipping. If your order requires a forklift we will advise before delivery, and if no forklift is available upon delivery a surcharge will apply.

Bulky deliveries that require hand delivery (but no forklift) to the first floor or above and require stair or lift access will also be subject to a delivery surcharge. If you advise at checkout that your delivery is above the ground floor, we will be in touch regarding the surcharge. This surcharge is from $50 per pallet.

Over & Under Runs

Manufacturing processes require machinery to work at quite high speeds. During production, some sheets may be damaged and need to be replaced. In some instances, we cannot replace the sheets at that time and you will be met with a slightly lower Quantity than ordered. This amount will be credited to you.

In most cases though, there will be overruns, as the machinery cannot come to a complete stop in an instant – we require a gradual slow down, which will give us more cartons produced, than what are ordered. These overruns are payable by the client. And taking them also helps save on recycling, which is more sustainable and better for the Environment in the long term.

If you require EXACT Quantities, we may have to make some boxes in a different grade than ordered, to make up your order in the Exact Qty required. These requests will also Incur higher unit costs. This cannot be avoided, as we must consider the recycling processes and costs involved, in helping to reduce our carbon footprint.
